Six VoicePrint Volunteers Received A 2008 Ontario Volunteer Service Award
On April 14 at a ceremony in Toronto, six of our valued volunteers received awards for their commitment to our service.
“Simply put, there would be no service without our dedicated and talented readers,” says Toronto Volunteer Coordinator (and nominator) Jerry Bagelman.”
The Volunteer Service Awards is hosted by the government of Ontario to recognize the millions of Ontarians who volunteer. Through a nomination process, individuals and organizations help ensure that Ontario’s volunteers receive the recognition they deserve.
Congratulations to the following Toronto readers:
Doug Thompson: He’s been a regular bi-weekly reader for 10 years. Doug arrives very early in the morning to assemble his articles and he has also served as a volunteer on the NBRS Board of Directors and various other committees.
Gloria Lee: A twice-weekly reader, Gloria happily fills in for her fellow volunteers when they are unable to come in due to reasons that can’t be helped (e.g. illness). Gloria celebrates her fifth year with VoicePrint.
J. P. Leech: A 10-year veteran volunteer, Paul is a steadfast reader and regularly assembles the articles for his programs. Paul is also consistently available to voice promos and other projects for the service.
Janet Greenwood:A former NBRS Board Member, Janet is a faithful reader and an all-around delight to have in the studio. Janet has been a regular volunteer for 15 years.
Randy Gerow: He has contributed to VoicePrint for 10 years and is always available to step in and help with “emergency reads.”
Susan Mayes: She kindly reads two programs for VoicePrint each time she comes in. She has been volunteering for VoicePrint for five years.
