    Synopsis:
    Girl with a Pearl Earring takes place in Delft, Holland in 1665. Griet (played by Scarlett Johansson) becomes a maid in the household of Johannes Vermeer (played by Colin Firth). The young girl’s beauty and intuitive understanding of art lead the master painter to make her the subject of his most famous portrait. This riveting film earned three Oscar and two Golden Globe nominations and reveals Johansson as a superb actress. This film is r

Marie Canadian Council of the Blind hosts a Test Your “Eye” Q in the Food Court of the Station Mall on (February 7), 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be several activities, from pouring water from a pitcher into a glass to dialing a cell phone; all while having one’s vision obscured. The CNIB will also be in attendance.

  • The Tomorrow Box: a comedy by Anne Chislett at the The Palmerston Library Theatre (January 25, 26, 31 and February 1, 2), 560 Palmerston Avenue, near Bathurst and Bloor, $15 at the door.

    Synopsis: The Tomorrow Box is set in late-‘70s rural Ontario. It’s men versus women, urban versus rural, old versus new. All assumptions are turned upside down in this whacky madcap romp through provincial life. This play is brought to you by the Glenvale Players, in association with the Canadian Council of the Blind.
