Giving Opportunities
Six ways you can help ensure that VoicePrint continues its valuable job of informing all Canadians. Just phone, write or use our secure on-line donation process

There are six ways to help ensure that VoicePrint and its parent organization, The National Broadcast Reading Service Inc. (NBRS), can continue to bring vision- and print-restricted Canadians the in-depth published news and information that all people in this country must have in order to make informed decisions.

OUR SIX OPPORTUNITIES

OPTION 1: Become a Friend of VoicePrint

By joining our annual Friends of VoicePrint donation program you can show your support for our daily broadcasts of readings of articles from more than 600 Canadian newspapers and magazines at a level that best suits your financial circumstances.

OPTION 2: “Friends Of Charles MacColl Memorial Fund” For NBRS

To honour the memory of Charles MacColl and to salute his dedication to the cause of Making Media Accessible through his years of volunteer work on behalf of NBRS, a group of Charles’ friends have set up a memorial fund, contributions to which will go towards improving accessibility to published news and information in Mississauga, Ont., which was where Charles lived and worked for many years, by enhancing the operations of VoicePrint’s Local Broadcast Centre for the community.

Donation Options:

  1. Online by using our secure Online Donation Page.
  2. By mail or fax by using our special printable donation form.
  3. By calling: 1-800-567-6755, extension 258

OPTION 3: "In Memory" Donation

The great cause of improving accessibility throughout Canada has wide support. At NBRS we do our part by working tirelessly to Making Media Accessible.

By honouring the memory of someone who cared about improving accessibility in our society with an “In Memory” gift to NBRS, you’ll help to ensure that we can carry on with our pioneering work of breaking barriers to information and entertainment through the work of VoicePrint and AudioVision and the creation of The Accessible Channel.

Donation Options:

  1. Online by using our secure Online Donation Page.
  2. By mail or fax by using our printable donation form.
  3. By calling: 1-800-567-6755, extension 258

NBRS is a registered charity, and will issue tax receipts for donations over $10.

OPTION 4: Make a Legacy Gift

Help to ensure we will be there to serve others. Please consider joining the NBRS Legacy Circle. After considering their own needs and those of their loved ones, many people have chosen to make a commitment to the causes and organizations that have touched their lives. A legacy gift helps to ensure significant and lasting support so NBRS can continue to serve the growing number of vision- and print-restricted Canadians. There are a number of ways you can provide future support for NBRS by means of a legacy gift:

  • Charitable Bequest
  • Life Insurance
  • Gifts of Retirement Funds
  • Gifts of Securities

OPTION 5: The Gift of Securities

The 2006 federal budget announced exciting news for both Canadians and Canadian charities. Effective immediately, the government has eliminated the capital-gains tax for donations of publicly listed securities to registered Canadian charities. This change will substantially reduce the after-tax cost of making a donation, making this type of donation even more attractive to Canadians. For more information on making a gift of securities to The National Broadcast Reading Service Inc., please call 1-800-567-6755, ext. 258, or e-mail This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .

OPTION 6: Support From Your Organization

We are grateful for the generous support of clubs, corporations and charitable foundations. These partners enable us to continue our important work of providing media access to all. Please consider joining us as we develop new ways to break barriers for the benefit of the millions of vision- and print-restricted Canadians. The National Broadcast Reading Service Inc., the parent organization of VoicePrint and AudioVision Canada, is a registered charity, and will issue tax receipts for donations over $10.
